Considered one variety for bonsai, Mikawa Yatsubusa is a naturally dwarf little tree.
What makes it so distinctive is the way in which the leaves are held: deeply lobed and quite elongated, they overlap one another.
In spring, the new foliage, is light yellow-green. As summer arrives, the leaves darken to a rich green.
In autumn they become golden-orange.
